Snow white paws hit the ground in an even rhythm; striking the earth before lifting and falling down once more; carrying a single lithe creature through the tall grass in a swift manner. Amber orbs shifted, scanning the surrounding area for any signs of movement. So far, they had detected none; but then again, the feline’s quest for food had only just begun. Triangular ears twitched before pressing flat against the creature’s skull as a gentle wind brushed past it, causing the grass before him to part. That, was when the feline laid eyes on a small rodent not too far ahead. The small grey creature was sitting on its rump, its back to the cat, nibbling on something it held between its hands. Whiskered lips pulled upwards in a wicked grin, and the feline began to sidestep a couple of paces. Kage, the shadow of the grass clan, had found his prey.
His white tipped tail flicked from the left to the right as he lowered himself flat against the ground and began to creep forwards. The mouse, now less than a foot away, was still oblivious to his presence, something that he found to be rather amusing. A crimson tongue darted out between barely parted lips, licking them slightly. ‘Just a little closer…’
Kage pushed off of all four legs, instantly launching himself up and forwards. Small razor sharp claws emerged on his forepaws as he landed, catching the unexpectant rodent in his paws. He kept his paws on the creature, minding not to crush it under his weight—although it wasn’t much, and waited for it to stop squirming in his grasp. It took some time, but before long he found himself staring down at a slightly bloodied mouse that was breathing in an irregular and panicked manner. He paid it no heed though, the thing would be dead soon anyway. So, he lowered his head and lifted the rodent with his mouth, its tail dangling from the side, and began to move once more.
He traveled for sometime, eventually stopping in a large grove of pine trees. He glanced about the area, ears twitching some, before padding off to a large boulder as he realized there was no real need to do such things. There weren’t any other cats in this area, at least, none that he was aware of. He jumped up the side, using a couple of rocks that rested beside the boulder to help him make his ascent, and dropped the mouse when he had reached the top. He lowered himself so that he was seated and began to eat…
[Alright. It’s been a while since my last animal rp, but here goes! Anyone is welcome to post here.]

Filtered sunlight broke through the trees as two lithe shapes trotted across to forest floor. One, an adult female, trotted ahead of one smaller, tinier animal. They were cats; Cats that were forming a group, or rather 'clan'. The bigger of the two cats had no intention of anything but hunting and exploring, while the littler one just followed the first, staring at trees and little bugs. Their names were Glacialis and Kaen. Glacialis lifted up her muzzle in an attepmt to smell the air. She smelled the scent of a sparrow, not too far away. Quitely she krept foreward, Kaen right behind her. Soon enough the tiny bird came into sight; it was standing on the ground, pokeing at the ground. "This will be an easy catch..." She thought, croutching down, waving her tail in a motion so that Kaen knew not to move. She crawled along, belly almost touching the ground, and kept her eye on the prize. She was only a few feet away when she stepped on a twig, which snapped and scared the bird into flight. "Mouse Dung!" She hissed inbetween gritted teeth, jumping for the bird and rather catching it in midair. Her paws thumped to the ground, and she shook the bird, making sure it was dead. She took one voracius bite, then batted it with her paw towards Kaen. "Oh thank you Glacialis! That was an amazing catch! I was beginning to think you wouldn't get it but you did!" Kaen then took a few bites, looked up at Glacialis, who was letting out a mrrrow of laughter. She then finished up her prey and kicked it towards a nearby tree. Turing her attention back to the larger cat, she thought of a question. "Where are we going today? Oh, sorry. You told me yesterday, nevermind." They were going to the west, where Glacialis had heard from a loner that a cat lived around there. She told Kaen that she had to discuss some things with that cat.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The two females made their way towards the center of tghe pine forest, and Kaen had already senced a cat. She nodded her head towards a pile of rocks up ahead, where a black and white tom was sitting. Glacialis realized that that must be the cat, and casually jumped up onto the rocks, followed by Kaen. She dipped her head in greetings. "Hello." She meowed looking at the cat. "Are you the cat that is rumored to take over the west?" It was a ligitimate question; she was the one destined to take over the north. After all, she had to know what cats her surroundings held...
A red tongue darted out from between black lips, licking the fur around the ebon and white feline’s mouth and thus cleaning it as he finished his meal. Once he was satisfied with this, he lifted a paw to his mouth and began to run his rough tongue over the surface quickly; ridding the white fur that colored his feet of any signs of his meal. It hadn’t been a special meal or anything, but it had satisfied the hunger that had resided in his stomach only about half an hour beforehand. Amber eyes shifted, skimming over the empty patch of land before him; his tail flicking from the right to the left anxiously. He could only hope to imagine what this land would look like when he had actually started a clan. Felines who, like himself, preferred the shadows and a stealthy way of life, would someday be sitting before him. Calicos. Tabbies. Cats of every breed would be sitting there, ready to strike at anything that stood in their way. And he….He, would be the one to lead them. His eyes flashed at the idea.
Kage’s thoughts, however, where interrupted as his ears twitched, picking up the slightest of sounds. From what he could tell, there was something drawing closer to his current location. His eyes narrowed, a low rumble forming in his chest, as he waited for whatever was drawing closer to emerge from the brush. His ears twisted, pressing flat against the back of his skull; and he finally laid eyes on the intruders.
Moments later, a pair of cats emerged from a nearby tree. One, was noticeably older, and appeared to be leading the other. The other, was small, looking to be only a couple months old, if even that. But, what surprised him the most, was the fact that they were both, undoubtedly, female. ‘What do we have here….? he thought, following the pair of felines with his eyes as they bounded up his rocks as if they were their own. ‘A couple of fools come to play? His head tilted to the side a few degrees, a slightly bemused expression crossing his facial expressions, and he listened to the older cat speak.
“If I am?” he replied simply with a meow, rising to his feet slowly, tail swishing as he did so. He crossed his right foot over his left, and then slid the left out once more before repeating the motion, as he sidestepped around the felines. “What would it matter to you?”
[Sorry for the inactivenesss. By the way I like what you did with the site. The side pictures and the new home, help, ect. buttons! Good job.]
Icy eyes flitted in their sockets at the black and white tom's remark. He had a sence of regality to him; one not found in many cats. It seemed like he was mad that the two of them had come into his territory. But, none the less, he should have the right to act this way. Glacialis opened her mouth some to give her white chest a few embarassed licks, and then looked him straight in the eye, her tail tip twitching. "If you are, I should want to know, because I am Glacialis, the soon-to-be Dux Ducis of Fire Clan. I was hoping to establish some borders with you, if you are the one who will lead the cats that thrive in shadow. I would also like to know the name of your clan." Glacialis flexed her claws, preparing for the next few words. "And this is..." She turned to the young cat beside her, in a guesture to introduce her, but the younger of the two beat her to it. "I am Kaen!" She meowed excitedly."Who are you?" The words flowed out of the cats mouth in a curious matter, and she took a few steps up to the tom, eyes wide and sparkling. All Glacialis could do was let out a meow of laughter, then shake her head slightly and cuff Kaen over the ear, claws sheathed. She too wanted to find out the tom's name, so she was slightly glad that Kaen asked. The three sat there in silence, two waiting for the other's reply...
Amber eyes flashed as he listened to the older, and larger, feline speak. So, this was the cat that was supposed to take over the northern territory? ‘Interesting.’ he thought, his scarred left brow raising a fraction as he contemplated the idea. The female cat’s, Glacialis, request was simple. She wished to establish borders along their land, and learn the name of his clan. He parted his black and white lips in preparation to speak, only to be interrupted by the younger cat.
“Kage, soon to be the Dux Ducius of the Grass Clan.” He said simply with a meow, replying to the question he knew that both cats wanted to know, although only one had really expressed it outwardly.
It was only after he had spoken, that he directed his attention to the older female, still focusing on the idea of setting up borders. Kage hadn’t really considered the idea of doing such a thing yet; after all, until the two females had shown up, he hadn’t known of the existence of any other cats in the surrounding land. He knew there were other cats in the world, yes—he had lived with one for most of his life—he just hadn’t known that there were other clans forming around him. Perhaps he really did need to leave his land of seclusion every once in a while; though just to check up on the outside world, of course. Finally, after a brief moment of silence, he continued to speak; having finally come to a conclusion for his thought process.
“As for establishing our borders, I suppose that would be a good idea.” He started, nodding his head a bit as he spoke, the white fur on his face shimmering as he did so. “What land did you have in mind?” He continued, tail flicking behind his rump.
[Sorry for the lateness. I've been busy. ]
[Sorry fr the latenesssss..... XD]
A white tipped tail twitched in the silence of the forest, casting a slender shadow in the grass. Glacialis thought about where the borders should be put; she had thought about it the previous night. There was a rock, in the middle of the clearing between the two forests.... "The rock in the two forest's clearing should be the center. The border should run up to the end of the clearing near the mountains, and it should run all the way to the lake." The female cat pointed to her left which was to wards the lake, in a gesture to show the direction she was speaking about. This was a reasonable boundary; one which would be easy to distinguish. She couldn't imagine Kage saying no. But still, she had to wait for his approval...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The young calico cat just sat there, slightly bored, waiting for the two adults to finish talking their 'big-cat-talk'. "This is not fun." Kaen thought. But she did agree silently about putting the borders in the clearing. 'Glaci is soo smart...' Kaen thought, waiting for the tom named Kage's reply...

The black and white feline dropped down to a seated position, brow scrunching together as he considered the gray female’s idea for the border. It was a simple location, not to mention the fact that it was very easy to find. He nodded once, amber eyes flashing. The female, as much as he hated to admit it, was rather intelligent. Why bother to set up complicated borders, when you could simply establish one that would be a plain as the daylight? There would be no mistaking the border if they placed it there. And that, of course, would cause less conflict between their clans.
“You have a good idea.” He said finally after a few moments of silence. “Now, all that is left would be to go and mark those borders.”
He glanced back and forth between the pair of cats before him. First at Glacialis. Then to Kaen. The kitten, despite her attempts to looks as though she was interested, actually seemed to be quite bored. An understandable thing. When he was younger, Kage had disliked such events as well. He would have rather been off chasing some bird or butterfly. Not watching to older cats converse about borders. But things had changed now. He was older, and different. The scar that distorted the patch of fur above his left eye, and his vision of things were proof of that. They were just lucky he was in a relatively good mood…
“Shall we get going then?”

Glacialis simply shook her head at the tom across from her, as a gesture to say yes to what he asked. After that she simply turned, and landed with a soft 'shuff' in the grass in a gracefull matter. Kaen followed, launching off the boulder, and tumbling to the ground, and after her Kage jumped down with ease.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Three cats trotted through the underbrush of the pine forest to wards the place of the new border. When they reached there, they all sat down, save for Kaen who was chasing after a small mouse a few fox-lengths away. "So, I guess from now on we must mark these borders." The older she-cat explained. "And if any other cats surface... tell them to mark borders with you." A pink tongue swiped over her smooth but fuzzy maw, looking to the cat sitting before her, waiting for a reply...
